Our Mission and Vision for Future Success
The purpose of The Locke & Smith Foundation is to review all passed legislation (excluding budget bills) in an effort to determine whether elected officials, including the Governor, have an adherence to their oath of office to a Constitutional Standard. The legislative committee reviews all legislation in strict scrutiny (defined as holds the reviewed law as presumptively invalid unless the government via the Constitution can demonstrate that the law or regulation is necessary to achieve).
The Constitution of Missouri is the people’s law to the elected and appointed in every governing capacity, it is a delegatory document that grants those in the government strict limitational authority to governing. This is why it is the basis by which all legislation is reviewed and all members of the assembly are scored as to how they voted on such legislation.
